Scrim and Fiber Types for Filter Media in Bio mass Power Stations:
Bio mass as a fuel is CO2 neutral, but creates different types of fly ash during combustion, which need to be effectively separated. Therefore high temperature resistant filter media made of Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS)-, Polyimide (PI)-, Premium Fibre Blend (PFB)- and Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-fibers are often used in biomass power stations. These filter media types filter fine dust particles efficiently as a result of their increased fibre surface, and under optimal operational conditions maintain lowest possible emission rates.
For highly agglomerating dusts, we recommend the use of filter media with a Glaze-surface finish. An additional CS30® or CS31® finish ensures optimal filtration results.
All filter media models are also available as AlimexMPS filter media. The enlarged filter area of the Alimex MPS filter media ensures highly effective separation of the dusts.
Alimex filter made of needle felt or fiberglass fabric are particularly suitable for fine dust filtration. Owing to a laminated ePTFE membrane, very fine dust particles are already separated on the surface.
Chemical and pharmaceutical industry
In the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, there are dusts which, due to their high value, are recycled into the production process. Scrim and Fiber Types for Filter Media in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry:
Due to different operating conditions and compositions of the gas streams, almost the complete spectrum of filter media from the low and high temperature range is used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. Alimex Filter media stand out for their excellent separation of the often valuable dusts and hence make a positive contribution in increasing the productivity of your production processes.
In order to avoid product contamination due to fiber abrasion of the filter bags, we recommend Alimex Filters made of needle felt or fiberglass fabric. A laminated ePTFE membrane forms a smooth, almost closed surface, which protects against fiber abrasion and reduces product contamination to a minimum when changing products.
In environments in which explosive dust is present, we recommend the use of Excharge filters. They dissipate electrostatic charges safely and achieve resistance values of well below than 106ohms.
Coal-fired power stations
Coal-fired power stations generate a significant amount of fly ash, which must be safely removed from the flue gas by dust collectors. Therefore, the central task of filter media in coal-fired power stations is an efficient dust removal and the neutralization of harmful gases.
